Who said that the mother of the bride couldn’t wear black? This spunky mother of the bride was absolutely stunning, and was as glamorous as a movie star for her daughter’s afternoon garden wedding. The black hat not only added shade to her face from the hot and glaring afternoon sun, but was a fabulous accessory to complete her look for the day. She preferred “not” to wear a corsage, so she didn’t; another great example of throwing tradition out the door! And as you can see, it had no negative effect on her look for the day as she was as lovely as she was fun!

Instead of providing a basic guest book for your guests to simply “sign in” as they arrive; think about doing what this couple did… They featured one of their engagement photos in a picture frame on a 6 ft. table and placed it in a convenient location that guests could easily access as they arrived. They were then greeted by the gracious guest book attendant, where she then took a Polaroid picture of each guest, which could immediately be pasted in the guest book and where the guest could insert a personalized message for the couple. This guest book will surely be cherished for years to come, with not only the guest’s pictures to reflect back on and who celebrated with them on their special day, but also revisiting the well wishes that were created just for them!

Who said that only the bride could wear white on her wedding day? As you can see by this image, tradition did not play a role in selecting the formal wear for the wedding participants, as it’s been said for years that “it is not proper for anyone other than the bride to wear white on her wedding day.” This particular bride chose white for all of her attendants to wear from head to toe, and was it ever stunning! And who said that you had to spend a fortune on your bridal party’s accessories? The wraps around each of the attendants shoulders came from a bolt of tulle that was simply cut and fit to comfortably cover the attendants shoulders, and pinned in the back with a whimsical apple green butterfly broach; which was the perfect finishing touch.

This bride was very particular about working closely with the florist to customize each of her attendants flower arrangements to fit their individual and unique style and body types. This was a little detail that made each of her attendants feel that much more special as just that much more thought went into the little details to enhance their participation in her wedding day. It’s simple little acts of kindness and thoughtfulness such as this, that if given the thought, can have everlasting effects!

Simple can be better! Decorating your tables with simple, yet elegant arrangements and candles that also offer a romantic ambience as the sun sets can be both cost effective and absolutely stunning! This was an exceptionally elegant affair; with simple elegance being the clients primary objective in terms of the overall design aspect. Incorporating your favorite fruit as this bride did with green apples, and scented candles wrapped with colorful ribbon, proved to be an inexpensive way of adorning this brides guest tables and at a fraction of the price when compared to what otherwise might have been lavish floral centerpieces. You don’t have to break the bank to create the effect you are seeking.

Decorating made easy! We had the florist provide dozens of luscious Lady Liberty White Roses delicately placed in water tubes, and strategically inserted them in the existing plants surrounding the back yard, adding touches of color to compliment the overall décor. This effect can be seen on the entry picture of this featured wedding, with the water tubes of roses placed in the topiaries just outside the outdoor pavilion where the couple was married in.

Instead of allocating your floral budget on elaborate centerpieces for each of the guest tables, think about making a huge splash on the head table, as often times the head table is strategically placed at the reception and is the focal point. This bride and her mother spent many hours carefully planning and shopping for the both lovely and personalized accessories complimenting not just the head table, but the guest tables as well; incorporating the hints of apple green to compliment the simple, yet elegant look. They purchased a piece of apple green designer fabric to adorn the center of the head table, and accented it with tulle and strands of pearls. As the image indicates, the centerpiece itself was very simple; consisting of apples, weeping willow, and a few basic yet lovely flower stocks; with apple green votives and color spots of white dahlias strategically placed to compliment the overall look! It was absolutely stunning; while at the same time so simple!

Offering a variety of desserts is a perfect compliment to the traditional wedding cake. In many cases when the bride isn’t necessarily in favor of offering just one large, traditional wedding cake, we recommend placing an order for the smallest of wedding cakes, serving typically around 35 guests. Complimenting this pint-sized wedding cake, we recommend serving an array of the couple’s favorite sweets for their guests to sample.
